To attempt to offset the soul-sucking, spirit-crushing influence of the aggressive marketing we are bombarded with every day on the internet, I am opting to take a break from social media (and all inessential elements of the internet) for two weeks starting immediately. It’s a detox, if you will. No Tumblr, no Twitter, no Facebook, and (hopefully) no goddamn ads. (Since I haven’t had cable TV for years, there will be none of that nonsense either.) My physical environment is already (literally) sky-high full of advertisements for shit I don’t want, need, or desire. To willingly submit myself to even more seems, at the moment, insane. I’m at a tipping point. This life feels so artificial and controlled sometimes…gonna try to wrestle back a little clarity and autonomy.
So yeah…a break. (If you see posts from me over the next two weeks, they’re simply previously queued-up and auto-posted to my page. I’m not cheating. Swear.)
If you want to say hello, contact me via email. I’ll probably be back in early May. When I return, if I have any news of the revelatory sort, I’ll be sure to post it here.
The internet kinda blows without you, Tumblr. Don’t do that again.
